In the face of the dilemmas of the modern world, social movements have a key power for social change. Social movements are collective efforts of individuals coming together for their social interests. The collective movements that have emerged since the late 1968s have been defined as new social movements due to their 'new' characteristics. New social movements are particularly focused on raising daily living standards. In this sense, topics such as environmental protection, respect for sexual orientation, abortion, student rights, and all kinds of abuse against women have come up for discussion with the new social movements. The aim of this study is to reveal the bibliometric view of the studies on new social movements through the VOSviewer program on the publications indexed in the Web of Science database. According to the main results of the research, it is determined that 901 academic studies on new social movements have been searched in the Web of Science database. It is seen that the first examples of the scanned studies took place in 1980, while the current research continues in 2023. There was no any published work in 1981 in the relevant period whereas it was detected that there was at least one publication in the other years. The year that most works published is 2014.
