Abstract

Pre-and post Second World War period both concrete changes on societies and also created radical changes thought of the societies.  The concepts of movement-image and time-image in Deleuze's philosophy, in which the general distinction is designed to be before and after the war; It is associated with the movement-image that the classical narrative is represented and the time-image that the modernist narrative finds representation. The use of child characters among the only representations of the modernist narrative in cinema is important in terms of examining how the child characters are positioned in this narrative. Bresson separated his works from mainstream cinema due to his unique cinematic language. In this inherent style, the main character of the movie Mouchette, the girl Mouchette, is examined in the time-image center where Deleuze identifies her beginning with the child. The film in Mouchette's life, which is isolated from society and himself, is handled on the basis of concepts such as time, space and story, and the representation of the child in time-image in Bresson's filmography was analyzed by content analysis. As a result of the analysis, it has been determined that the fragmented structure of the film's perception of time and the inconsistency of the character integrity at the content point show the position of Mouchette's childhood.
